Josh Cunningham

Information Technology Project Manager

Josh Cunningham is part of the User Access, Outreach, and Communication Group within the Operations Section of the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility (OLCF) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He manages operations for the Quantum Computing User Program (QCUP), which aims to help connect researchers with state-of-the-art quantum computing resources. He also leads protected data operations for the OLCF and the CITADEL security framework, supporting projects that require secure and compliant environments for sensitive data.

Josh coordinates several user engagement efforts, including the OLCF Annual User Meeting, the Annual Quantum Computing User Forum, and the OLCF User Survey. He also oversees the development of the OLCF Operational Assessment Report.

He began his DOE career in 2017 as an intern at OLCF and has since supported high-performance computing and national security efforts in roles at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and the Y-12 National Security Complex.

Josh is an alum of AmeriCorps and the NNSA Graduate Fellowship Program. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems and Communication, with his research and publications focused on applied AI.
