Bio
I was born and raised in Sweetwater, Tennessee where I attended Sweetwater High School and played for the soccer team. I love to read and am an avid member in a local book club. Other activities outside work include spending time with my friends, family and Yorkie, Sammie, watching Soccer, and re-watching Gilmore Girls.
One fun fact about me: I took a Harry Potter class in college which was followed up by a 2 week trip to Scotland and England to see major landmarks as well as the filming locations for the films. This also led to a position on a Harry Potter fan site as a staff editorialist and marketing manager for 2 years.
Professional Experience
Before working as a Financial Analyst at ORNL, I was a bookkeeper at a grocery store for 5 years where I handled daily balancing of cash drawers, bank deposits, and conducted managerial tasks amongst the cashiers. After that, I worked as an admin at a tax firm for 2 years where I answered phones, scheduled appointments, provided customer service to various clients, and handled bookkeeping on payroll for clients.
I have been a FA at ORNL for a little over 2 years now. I started out at the lab working on the Exascale Computing Project while also supporting CADES. When ECP concluded, I moved to CCSD where I continued to support CADES as well as HPC and AI. After supporting those areas for a year, I transitioned to my current role as the Financial Analyst for HR and Partnerships as a member of the Financial Planning Team.
Education
I have an Associates degree from Cleveland State with an Accounting emphasis. I attended Cleveland State Community College as part of the Tennessee Promise before transferring to Tennessee Wesleyan University where I received my Bachelor's of Science degree with an Accounting emphasis. I also minored in Entrepreneurship at TWU where I was able to attend 3 entrepreneurship related classes as well as the 12 hours outside my major (as required) in Communications.
