Manit Shah, a Verification Technologies Engineer at ORNL since October 2023, specializes in R&D related to nuclear security and international safeguards for advanced reactors. In this role, Shah actively contributes to both domestic and international initiatives focused on safeguards and CBRN security.

Before joining ORNL, Shah held positions at the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) from March to October 2023, focusing on safety and severe accident analysis for CANDUs and SMRs. His earlier experience includes a tenure at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories from 2019 to 2023, where he contributed to similar efforts, including the development of the 4D/4P and RAT tool for the CNSC Emergency Operations Center.

Shah has a history of impactful contributions, such as creating an open-source gamma spectrum predictor tool while at Virginia Commonwealth University (2017-19), and designing and facilitating in-field verification exercises for the IAEA's International Training Course on SSAC at ORNL during his time at Tetra Tech.

Shah has proficiency in diverse nuclear areas, including radiation detectors (with applications in safeguards and security), international safeguards, reactor safety, and CBRN security.
