Bio
Dr. AB Siddik works in the Water Resource Science and Engineering Group, which is part of the Environmental Sciences Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). AB Siddik holds a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Virginia Tech. His research interests include the water-energy nexus, interbasin water transfers, and sustainable water and energy systems. His research focuses on developing modeling frameworks and simulations to support environmental informatics, with an emphasis on sustainable water management in the face of changing climate and policy conditions. At ORNL, AB will contribute to energy and water resource modeling, supporting data-driven decision-making for energy and water policy development.
AB earned a BS in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology and an MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Kansas State University. Additionally, he has almost two years of internship experience at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBL) and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). During his time at LBL, he developed the framework of the Water IMPACT tool, an interactive platform that offers energy-environment benchmarking data for electricity consumers and grid operators across the U.S.
