Dr. Mengya Li is currently a Battery R&D Scientist in the Emerging and Solid-State Batteries Group, Electrification Section, Electrification and Energy Infrastructure Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Dr. Li joined Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in 2018. Her research focuses on Na-ion batteries including material synthesis, electrode engineering, advanced characterization, and cell manufacturing. She received her B.S. degree in Material Physics from Nanjing University in China in 2013, and her Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University in 2018. Her previous research experiences involved multiple energy storage systems such as Li-ion, Na-ion, Li-S batteries and supercapacitors, with special focus on the development of high-energy composite anodes and cathodes, carbon nanomaterials and 3D carbon architectures. Dr. Li has over 30 peer-reviewed journal publications with more than 1000 citations.
