Bio
Menisha Karunarathna is a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at Oak Ridge National
Laboratory, specializing in sustainable fiber composites and self-healing polymers. She holds a
Ph.D. in Chemistry from Clemson University, with expertise in polymer chemistry and material
science. Her research focuses on developing advanced materials with applications in renewable
energy and environmental sustainability. Prior to her current role, Menisha worked as a Graduate
Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Clemson University, where she taught
undergraduate Organic laboratory courses, and mentored graduate students. Menisha completed
her BSc Chemistry special honors degree from University of Sri Jayewardenepura Sri Lanka.
She also has industry experience as a Technical Sales Executive at Unitrac Holdings (PVT) Ltd
in Sri Lanka.
