
Bio
Michael Whetstone joined ORNL in 2022, bringing 10 years of experience in education and operations. He serves as the Educational Programs Specialist, responsible for the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the internship programs at ORNL. Also responsible for supporting the staff and students in navigating processes and requirements associated with internships. In addition to his role at ORNL, he currently serves in the Iowa Army National Guard as a logistics officer (CPT). His past experience includes teaching high school AP Physics, serving as Executive Officer for the Commandant Cell in Kuwait as part of CJTF-OIR, and serving as the Alpha Company Commander for the Sustainment Training Center, the U.S. Army's premier training environment for military logisticians.
