Bio
Mike Henkel is the Application Engineering Group Leader at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) supporting the Enrichment Science and Engineering Division within the Isotope Science and Engineering Directorate. The Application Engineering Group is focused on infrastructure design support, infrastructure buildout, maintenance, work execution and various other functions in support of design activities. Mike has extensive experience in project management, machine design and work execution. He began his career at the Centrus Energy Corporation (formerly USEC) as a design and assembly engineer which helped pave his career path. After leaving Centrus, Mike spent a short time in the commercial boating industry prior to returning to the nuclear industry. Before joining ORNL, Mike spent about 6 years traveling East Tennessee supporting both Nuclear Fuel Services (NFS) and Y-12 National Security Complex.
