Bio
Mijanur R Palash is a Postdoctoral Research Associate - HPC and AI in the Analytics and AI Methods at Scale (AAIMS) group. He has joined the group to support the research on generative AI and foundation models, such as large vision transformers and diffusion models, to improve large scale scientific image data analysis.
Mijanur received his PhD in Computer Science from Purdue University, West Lafayette in 2023. His PhD work was focused on using deep learning and computer vision techniques for multimodal emotion recognition. During his PhD he finished two internships at Intel, where he worked on neural rendering and future frame extrapolation using computer vision techniques. Previously, Mijanur received his MS in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2018 and his BS in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) in 2013.
Outside of work, Mijanur spends most of his time with his family. He enjoys travelling, hiking, and playing various sports.
