Group Leader, Verification Technologies

Nathan Rowe is a senior R&D staff member and the Verification Technologies Group Leader for the Nuclear Nonproliferation Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.  Nathan has focused his career on technology development in support of nuclear safeguards and security applications. He is an electrical engineer by education with a B.S. and M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Tennessee. He has been a staff member at ORNL since 2009 working on a diverse set of technologies including tamper indicating devices, physical security sensors, radiation portal monitors, and non-destructive assay systems. From 2018 to 2021, he was a cost-free expert supporting the IAEA, in Vienna Austria, as a Containment Systems Engineer where he helped in the develop of the next generation of tamper indicating and detecting technologies.
