Bio
In his current role, Neal works to provide design support for the Neutron Technologies Engineering Section. Prior to taking this position last December, he was the Lead Mechanical Designer for the Mechanical Systems & Operations group in the Research Accelerator Division. He joined the lab in 2013 as a Senior Mechanical Designer where he completed designs for the vacuum improvement project in the LINAC, developed an improved primary stripper foil mechanism & the LEBT valve project, to name a few. Neal was also involved in mentoring fellow designers and engineers on the use of PTC Creo software, which he has been using since 1997. He was instrumental in selecting improved Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) training, and also served as the facilitator for his group.
Neal brings his previous experience from the private sector, where he accumulated 17 years of experience in the OEM automotive, diesel engine manufacturing & industrial braking industries.
