Ozgur Alaca received a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA. He worked as a Graduate Assistant Researcher in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University. He also worked as a Research Assistant for the Telecommunications, Advanced Processing, Informatics, and Robotics Laboratories (Tapir Lab.) and the Istanbul Digital Forensic Laboratory at Istanbul Ticaret University.

In December 2022, he joined as an Intern in the Grid Communication and Security Research Group at the Electrification and Energy Infrastructures Division of Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), Knoxville, TN, USA. In January 2024, he started as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the ORNL Grid Communication and Security Research Group. His research interests include multi-carrier wireless technologies, index modulation, RF impairments, statistical signal processing, machine learning, and anomaly detection in smart grids.
