Radiochemical Processing Technician

Raina is a Radiochemical Processing Technician in the Isotope Processing and Manufacturing Division (IPMD). She is currently involved in the chemistry for Tri-Lab accelerator-produced Ac-225 from Th-232, Ba-133 processing, Ra-224/Pb-212 generator manufacturing, and gamma spectroscopy. 

 

Before joining ORNL, she developed skills including radiolabeling, isotope recovery, electroplating solid cyclotron targets, preparation of liquid cyclotron targets, isotope purification, radiochemical dispensing, and dispensing doses for Nuclear Medicine patients. Isotopes she has chemistry experience with include Ni-64, Cu-64, In-111, Cd-109, Cd-112, Tl-203, Zn-68, Zn-65, Ge-68, F-18, N-13, Ac-225.

Raina previously worked as a radiochemist at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology.
