Professional Experience
Both at ORNL and then Y-12, I spent the first 7 years of my career supporting nuclear facility management/operations, where my work kept nuclear facilities compliant and operational while mitigating risk to workers and the public. I started my career at ORNL as a procedure writer in the Nonreactor Nuclear Facilities Division. In this role, I observed nuclear operations and translated those actions into concise written steps. Then at Y-12, as a qualified shift technical advisor and shift manager in a nuclear facility, I led functional tests, and provided oversight for change control, work authorization, and safety basis implementation.
Now, back at ORNL I support the Facilities and Operations Directorate as a Process Improvement Engineer where I guide teams through process improvement efforts to eliminate waste and streamline work.
