Group Leader - Isotope Processing and Manufacturing, 3047 Operations

Rocky Estes is the Group Leader for the 3047 Operations group supporting the DOE Isotope Program within the Isotope Processing & Manufacturing Division (IPMD).  A 11-year ORNL employee, Rocky started at ORNL as Multi-Craft supervisor in the Facility Management Division (FMD).

He spent over five years in FMD supporting various research programs including the Material Plasma Exposure Experiment within the  Fusion and Fission Energy Sciences Directorate and Mobile Uranium Processing Facility within National Security Sciences Directorate. Then he went on to serve 3 years as a Manufacturing Energy supporting Nonreactor Nuclear Facility Division, Energy Science and Technology Directorate, Nuclear Energy and Fuel Cycle Division, and Nuclear and Radiological protection where he earned a design patent for a radiological source jig. Following his Manufacturing Engineering role, Rocky became the Research Operations Specialist supporting various programs housed in ORNL's 4501 radiological facility including Isotope Processing and Manufacturing Division, Nuclear Energy and Fuel Cycle Division, Nuclear Nonproliferation Division, and the Radioactive Materials Analytical Lab. 

Rocky has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Tusculum College and a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
