Shailesh Dangwal

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Shailesh Dangwal is currently working as a postdoctoral research associate in chemical sciences division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He earned his master’s and PhD in chemical engineering from Oklahoma State University in 2017 and 2020, respectively. Previously he obtained his B-Tech in chemical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati in 2012. Shailesh worked as a senior engineer at CK Birla group in Hyderabad, India from 2012 to 2015. After his PhD, he worked as a postdoctoral associate at University at Buffalo (from 2021 to 2022) where his work was focused on the use of amine functionalized “advanced hierarchical nanoporous structures” for direct air capture of CO2. He joined ORNL in June 2022 in the Soft Matter and Membranes Group to work on the separation and recovery of critical battery materials and rare earth elements from end-of-life electronic waste.
