R&D Associate Staff

Dr. Sreshtha Sinha Majumdar is a R&D Associate staff member at the National Transportation Research Center (NTRC). She received her Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Mumbai (India) in 2007. Following this she worked in the industry, first in a prestigious information technology company, Wipro Ltd. in Bangalore, India and then at Johnson Matthey Chemicals India Pvt. Ltd. in Mumbai, India. Sreshtha received her M.S. (2014) and her Ph.D. (2016) degrees in chemical engineering at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio for her work in catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions with lower hydrocarbons for natural gas-fired lean-burn engines. As part of her research there, she developed a novel technique of wash-coating Pd-based catalysts onto monolith cores while maintaining its catalytic activity for NOx reduction for practical applications in an after-treatment unit. The wash-coat developed was hydrothermally stable, had superior sulfur tolerance with enhanced adhesive properties when compared to the powder catalyst. As the safety officer in her research group at the Ohio State University, she has also received multiple awards for maintaining the safety standards of the laboratory. Currently, in the Applied Catalysis and Emissions research group, she is working on examining the potential emission impacts of novel biofuel components, investigating the properties of low temperature adsorber materials and developing low-temperature methane oxidation catalysts.
