Timothy (Tim) Deller is a research staff member at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). His focus is computational imaging, including system design, image quality analysis, and image reconstruction algorithms. His project areas at ORNL have included neutron inelastic scatter tomography, synthetic aperture radar (SAR), and neuromorphic cameras.
Before coming to ORNL, Tim worked in the area of medical imaging for GE HealthCare (2005-2023), with contributions in PET, MR, CT, and Xray tomosynthesis. Tim was part of the team to develop the GE SIGNA PET/MR, which was the first clinical simultaneous PET/MR with time-of-flight PET capability.
Tim earned his BSEE degree from Purdue University (1999-2003) and MSEE from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (2003-2005). He is a senior member of IEEE.
