Travis Moore

Group Leader, R&D Demonstration

Travis Moore joined ORNL in 2019 and is currently the group leader of the R&D Demonstration Group where he leads a team of highly qualified operators who execute centrifuge gas test plans through rigorous conduct of operations, including 24/7 test operations for both the Domestic Uranium Enrichment Centrifuge Experiment (DUECE) and Stable Isotope projects.  Travis began his ORNL career as a Senior Technician supporting the DUECE project.  After progressing through the Operator and Lead Operator roles he was promoted to the R&D Demonstration Operations Specialist role in 2021.  As the Operations Specialist, Travis focused on planning, test execution, and implementing quality and document control program requirements, including maintenance and the transition of systems and facilities to operations.  Travis also led the implementation of significant improvements to ESED's gas testing capabilities.

Travis began his operations career at Tate & Lyle in Loudon, TN, in 2006, where he earned multiple operator qualifications and served as an Alternate Team Coordinator and Project Lead.  In 2018, he transitioned to supporting the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration programs as a Chemical Operator at the Y-12 National Security Complex.
