Viswadeep Lebakula is currently working as a research scientist (R & D associate) in Geoinformatics Engineering within the Geospatial Science and Human Security Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). His current research includes applying big data analysis, machine learning, and optimization techniques to forecast energy demand, global gridded population modeling, satellite imagery, remotely sensed data, and public health. He received Ph.D., and MS degrees in computer science from Mississippi State University and the University of Central Missouri respectively. Before his graduate studies, he worked as an assistant systems engineer at Tata Consultancy Services.
