The unique shape of the "Rapid binal sample environment flange" allows one to change neutron scattering instrument configurations with less use of an overhead crane and more rapidly than using traditional circular flanges. This allows for greater instrument flexibility and more measurements to be performed with the instrument. The operation also can be safely performed by a single individual rather than relying on two staff members to change sample configurations.
