Counterfeit refrigerants pose increasing risks to HVACR systems, leading to equipment failure, safety concerns, and environmental violations. This portable detection technology provides a cost-effective solution to quickly and accurately identify unauthorized refrigerant blends, improving safety and compliance in both industrial and commercial applications.

Description

The technology consists of a compact detection device featuring a sealed sampling chamber, a high-sensitivity gas sensor, and an integrated control module for real-time analysis. The device performs controlled gas intake and purging to ensure accurate measurements, displaying clear visual signals to alert users to non-authentic refrigerants. Validated in laboratory settings, the device demonstrated detection accuracy exceeding 95% across various refrigerant types. Designed for affordability and ease of use, the device enables on-site screening without specialized training. Other aspects include broader refrigerant detection, machine learning integration for greater precision, and packaging for field deployment.

Benefits

  • Rapid, on-site identification of counterfeit refrigerants
  • Portable and user-friendly design
  • High accuracy without requiring external lab analysis

Applications and Industries

  • HVACR system maintenance and servicing
  • Regulatory and safety inspections in industrial and commercial facilities
  • Environmental compliance monitoring
