ORNL supports DOE’s Office of State and Community Energy Programs, or SCEP, which works with state and local organizations to accelerate new energy technologies, catalyze local economic development and create jobs, and reduce energy costs through place-based strategies involving a wide range of government, community, business and other stakeholders.
As the coordinator of the Weatherization Assistance Program and a collaborator with the State Energy Program, ORNL’s support complements DOE's work with local governments and communities. DOE extends the core capabilities of state energy offices and expands the weatherization provider network to assist low-income families with home energy retrofits.
