Develops advanced processes, manufacturing schemes and pilot scale devices in energy storage and conversion research. Research areas include materials synthesis, processing and characterization, electrode engineering, cell manufacturing and prototyping for energy storage and conversion. The DOE Battery Manufacturing Facility is integral to the group’s work, providing a unique user facility that gives scientists the ability to analyze every aspect of battery production, from raw materials and electrode dispersion preparation to finished product and performance testing.
