Research and test reactor modeling

The Research and Test Reactor Physics Group pursues the gold standard in the application of reactor physics methods and tools to analyze, design, optimize, and deploy research, test, and experimental reactors while transferring lessons in support of the current reactor fleet.

The group's current focus is on tool development and analysis for noncommercial nuclear power systems. The group's work supports key national user facilities such as the High Flux Isotope Reactor and the Versatile Test Reactor, as well as first-of-a-kind systems such as the Transformational Challenge Reactor and other advanced reactor designs.
