Abstract
Owing to the extreme importance of building energy decarbonization in achieving global carbon emission reduction goals, this Special Issue, titled “Global Building Decarbonization Trends and Strategies”, focuses on various technology and policy approaches and regional case studies in achieving the decarbonization of buildings. In this issue, we provide a comprehensive overview of the requirements of net-zero buildings, the state of the art of different building-related technologies and their economic benefits, improvements to renewable technologies, the development of CCUS technologies and their
applicability in buildings, control strategies, and case studies of energy districts. The eight papers featured were selected to emphasize building decarbonization from a global perspective.
