Dr. Praveen Cheekatamarla is a Senior Researcher at Oak Ridge National Laboratory focusing on energy efficiency, renewable energy, and decarbonization technologies. He has over 16 years of industrial experience in energy efficient product development and served as a technical leader and principal engineer. He was the Director of Research and Product Development at Atrex Energy and was the principal developer of the fuel cell technologies enabling Atrex Energy to commercially deploy more than 800 fuel cell remote power generators in North America.
His primary areas of expertise include hydrogen technologies, solid oxide electrochemical cells, hybrid power systems, catalysis, thermo-chemical processes, ceramics, energy modeling, systems analysis, fuels, combustion, systems integration, reaction engineering, and energy efficient process/product development. Dr. Cheekatamarla holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. He has more than 70 publications and presentations and 14 invention records, and two patents to his name. He is an active peer reviewer, editorial board member and guest editor for technical journals.
