Kazi Moshiur Rahman

Postdoctoral Research Associate - Robotics and Intelligent Systems Group

Kazi Moshiur Rahman is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Robotics and Intelligent Systems group within the Manufacturing Science Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. His current research focus is in developing manufacturing processes for energy efficient applications using Binder Jet Additive Manufacturing technologies. Through his research, Kazi continues to reveal the underlying science at the interface of materials and manufacturing.

Kazi received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech in December 2022. His dissertation topic was "Binder - Powder Interaction: Investigating the Process - Property Relations in Metal Binder Jetting", where he studied the interaction of binder and metal powders and the influences on subsequent part properties, implemented new processing methods for improved part properties, and introduced techniques for novel applications using Binder Jet technologies. He also has an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from South Dakota State University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Bangladesh.
