Lois R Goodman

Temporary Technician - System Automation & Monitoring Research

Lois Goodman has come to Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in the summer of 2023 as a temporary technician under the guidance of Amy Elliott in the System Automation & Monitoring Research group at the Manufacturing Demonstration Facility (MDF). While at ORNL, she has facilitated in projects involving binder jet printing, robotic aided depowdering, vision system part identification, collection of rare earth magnets from EV motors, prototype tool development to aid in EV battery disassembly, and in data collection of EV battery upcycling. Lois received her Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology-Electronics in 2022 and her Associates of Applied Science in Information Technology & Networking in 2020 from DeVry University where she maintained a 4.0. In her free time she is a hobbyist and enthusiast in the field of electronics and technology. She enjoys working on various projects involving Arduino boards, sensors, and other electronic components in the development of interactive systems. She has various years of experience in manufacturing environments and is constantly looking for new challenges and opportunities to expand her professional development with knowledge and skills.
