Marc O Lamarre

Electro-Mechanical Senior Designer

Born in Montreal Canada in 1973, I graduated from the Canadian National Aerospace School in 1994 with an associate degree in Aerospace Fabrication. I first worked for Pratt & Whitney Canada as a CAD designer. In 1996 I moved to the US in Seattle working for Boeing Commercial Aircraft division, on the Boeing 777 program. In 1998, I relocated to Columbus OH where I started working for Honda Research & Development. I participated on the design of the Civic, Accord, Element, Pilot, Ridgeline, and several other Acura models. Over the years I earned 2 patents that are still currently being used in the auto industry. Finally in 2009 my career led me to ORNL working on the ITER project as a Senior Designer on several different systems (Cooling Water System, Magnets, Vacuum, Fueling, ECH, ICH).

In my personal life I like to stay active by playing and coaching Ice Hockey, Kayaking, Hiking, Skiing/Snowboarding. I am also a seasoned home remodeling expert in several trades (flooring, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HAVC, masonry, painting, landscaping). I also like to turn a wrench on my own personal vehicles from time-to-time.

Life gave me 3 beautiful children that are making my accomplishments listed above nearly irrelevant!
