Michael R Dickerson

Associate Technician

Michael Dickerson is a technician at Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Manufacturing Demonstration Facility (ORNL MDF) where he has worked under the guidance of Amy Elliott since 2021. Prior to joining ORNL, Michael held other roles as a technician including as an Electronics Technician in the U.S. Navy for eight years before being honorably discharged. Michael’s area of expertise revolves around operation and maintenance of binder jet 3D printers, as well as furnace operation and melt infiltration. Michael has extensive experience working with ExOne Binder Jetting systems including Innovent, Innovent+, X1-Lab, and M-Flex systems. Michael also has experience with desktop filament and resin printing systems including slicing, printing, post-processing, and maintenance. At ORNL, Michael holds the role of lab space manager, a role that involves managing all operational activities in a shared lab space. Responsibilities for this role include supervising all operations and related activities, coordinating materials storage and handling, and maintaining a safe and tidy workplace.
