Reactor Physics Nuclear Engineer

Dr. Nicholas Luciano is R&D staff in the Material Security and Stewardship group in the Nuclear Nonproliferation Division.  His primary role is to investigate the security issues associated with nuclear reactors using modeling & simulation tools.  Nick has worked previously at Brookhaven National Laboratory and at the Spallation Neutron Source.  Nick is a licensed professional engineer with a B.S. in physics from Georgia Tech, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from the University of Tennessee. His previous work includes neutron spectra measurements at SNS, plutonium disposition with MOX fuel in fast reactors, small modular LWR fuel design, and Russian VVER reactors.  His recent work has focused on detailed reactor computations for nuclear forensic and spent fuel security applications.
