Rob Lefebvre is currently a Senior R&D Staff member and Group Lead for Nuclear Code Integration at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in the Nuclear Energy and Fuel Cycle Division where he has been employed since 2009.

As the SCALE Software Production Coordinator, he serves the SCALE development and leadership teams in tasks related to software continuous integration and deployment, performance optimization, quality assurance, development iterations, feature and release planning, user experience and interaction, and defect remediation.

As manager of the DOE-NE Nuclear Energy Advanced Modeling and Simulation project (NEAMS) and Integrated Energy Systems (IES) Workbench Work Packages, he collaborates with scientists, engineers, and contractors from around the national laboratory complex with the goal of enabling the use of modeling and simulation to lower barriers and accelerate the deployment of advanced and economical nuclear energy systems, their operation, maintenance, and disposal.

Past project involvement includes the Consortium for Advanced Simulation of Light Water Reactors (CASL) Physics Integration (PHI) Infrastructure (INF) lead, where he collaborated with developers on the Virtual Environment for Reactor Applications (VERA)'s overall software architecture and design, system integration and administration, developer tools and maintenance,  and software testing, deployment, and user support.

His early work experience includes graphical user interface development, data visualization, software language interoperability, performance optimization, language pragmatics, cross-platform software, legacy code insulation and modernization, process and workflow management, and data-driven application-agnostic computational analysis for spent nuclear fuel.
