Traditional thermosetting polymers are widely used due to their excellent stability and mechanical performance. However, these materials are typically derived from non-renewable petrochemical sources and are difficult to recycle, often ending up in landfills or incinerated.

A low-cost heat exchanger design was developed to increase the charge and discharge time of high-energy density phase change materials. This heat exchanger utilizes less than 10% of the storage volume and ensures 90% discharge in 4 hours - the typical length of a shed event.

In this work, we developed a strong superwood veneer plywood composite. The developed materials have a high strength of ~640 MPa in a direction, which is about 22 times than that in another direction (29 MPa).
